Our Post Office opened for business on 27 September! We are fortunate to have one of only two post offices in the town and we wish Nishanthan, his wife Gowthi and daughter Suba well in running Worlds End stores and the Post Office. The new shop has been beautifully fitted out and fully re-stocked so if you use the Post Office you can do your shopping too. As the saying goes, use it or lose it!
Our local Wine Stand off sales is open for business as usual after some staff changes, stocking a large range of real ales, with one from the Kiln Brewery, Burgess Hill, and sparkling wine from nearby Plumpton College Vineyard. Colin, Roy, Mike, Aimee and Simon are ready to serve you.
We are sorry to report that the Paper Shop suffered a raid last month when a masked man entered the shop and threatened Mrs Patel. He ran away when the alarm was raised and fortunately the brave staff were not harmed, but this shows the risks our shopkeepers take serving their communities.
On a more positive note, the Watermill Inn has a new landlord. Colin Spurgeon took over at the popular pub last week and is looking forward, with his staff to taking the pub to new heights. Before coming to the Watermill he worked at Wetherspoons in London. Our web site maintenance has been in abeyance since the untimely death of our web manager, Martin, last year. However we are pleased to announce that the site hosting and management are in new hands so that it should be live again before the end of October.
Stop Press: The newest addition to Worlds End is Baan Thai Foods, a Thai take-away shop – opening soon!
